Job Details
Job Description: Responsible for detailed analysis, design and maintenance of system integration functions. Engineer performs feasibility studies and requirements analysis for system integration between applications using healthcare and industry standard formats. Solutions will typically include message routing, reformatting with GUI tools and scripting languages, and the use of various communication protocols including SNA, TCP/IP and FTP.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent technical experience required.
Experience:
Four years related experience in application development including operating system shell script programming and development languages.
Skills:
trong analytical ability to solve complex technical issues. Communication skills for the development of documented procedures, change control, and project management. Application analysis, development, testing, and coding skills to support an interface life cycle development. Familiar with mainframe concepts, server, and desktop environments. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with internal and external customers. Experience in two or more of the following languages: JAVA, C, C++, Perl, Tcl, SQL, XML or a compiler language. Familiarity with Healthcare and HL7 standard is preferred. Knowledge of ANSI X-12 standards is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
Visual acuity; manual dexterity and physical mobility; hear and orally communicate. Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.).
Working Conditions:
Normal working conditions. Must be willing to carry a pager/cell phone and be available for 24x7 on-call support to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Frequency of rotation will vary depending on need/size of department.
Attendance Requirement:
Regular job attendance is an essential job function.
Experience with Cloverleaf, OpenLink, Open Engine, or AnyQueue or .Net w/ Healthcare IT integration preferred.
Healthcare IT background in Integrations or Application experience preferred.
