Job Details
We are looking for the ideal candidate to join our Patient Financial Services (PFS) group in our Central Business Office in White Marsh, MD as a:
PFS Coordinator, Contract Management
In this position, you will be responsible for the following:
o Implement, monitor, and evaluate MedStar agreements with contracted payers within the Contract Management System.
o Act as a liaison between patient accounting and contract management system vendor.
o Ensure contract management system is updated timely and accurately. Reconciles file transfers to/from contract management system vendor.
o Analyze impact files as necessary to ensure system accuracy. Assist with identifying and escalating payer issues in a timely manner.
o Process and complete the daily workload of accounts assigned, reporting backlogs as identified.
o Utilize departmental software programs, including Monarch Pro and Microsoft Excel, to convert data from text files into an importable format to transfer data to a Microsoft Access database or a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
o Utilize Microsoft Office products to complete departmental reports.
Requirements include:
o Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, or related clinical field or discipline.
o One to two years health care experience in a health care related setting – either operations or finance. Experience should include healthcare reimbursement as well as CPT/ICD-9 coding.
o Should possess some knowledge of clinical delivery setting, health care insurance, and provider contracting arrangements.
o Working knowledge of UB04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) as well as knowledge of medical terminology
o Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
o Proficient uses of hospital registration and/or billing systems, personal computers as well as Microsoft spreadsheet, database and word processing applications.
o Ability to work independently.
